With Cromer only a short distance away from Forest Park, this Victorian seaside town is a great day out for the whole family, no matter what our infamous British weather has in store!
Cromer has stretches of long sandy beaches, and has recently won the blue flag meaning a clean and safe environment in which to really relax and enjoy your holiday. But that’s not the only thing Cromer has to offer…
Did you know that Cromer Pier is a 112 years old and was recently crowned Pier of the Year 2015? Plus it is home to the last end of pier show in Europe. The Cromer Pier Show – now in its 38th year is enjoyed by generations of visitors, a real must see show and attraction on the Norfolk coast and absolutely the best crab fishing spot on the coast.
Talking about Crab, this is something you must try (if you haven’t already) as Cromer is well known for its Crab and Lobster, even holding its own Crab and Lobster festival every year. Don’t worry if Crab isn’t to your taste, there are plenty of places to grab traditional Fish and Chips to eat along the seafront.
Cromer museum is also a must see! Discover what it was like to live in Cromer in the 19th Century and step into a Victorian fisherman’s cottage. The Lifeboat museum, number one attraction on TripAdvisor, is situated at the end of the pier. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the RNLI and what these extraordinary people do to keep people safe out at sea. Other great attractions include Amazona Zoo, the Cromer Treasure Trail and for those rainy days Regal Movieplex cinema – plenty to keep the little ones happy!
Get yourself down to Cromer Pier on Sunday 9th August for the annual Lifeboat Day. With an action packed line up for the whole family to enjoy, including Birds of Prey, treasure hunt and the duck race, its one not to be missed!
Cromer Carnival is back on Saturday 15th – Friday 21st August with a spectacular week-long event including Carnival Day on Wednesday 19th. For more information about the events happening over the week, check out their website and get involved.
