Deciding to buy a holiday home at Forest Park is an exciting time. But we know you’ll have lots of questions before going ahead.

Buying a holiday home is a major purchase. And we want you to be absolutely satisfied that you’ve bought the right home, at the right holiday park, for you and your family to visit for years to come.

What is the length of the season at Forest Park?

Our site license allows us to operate from March 15th to January 15th however from the end of November this can be dependent on weather restrictions. The facilities are open all year round.

How long can I keep my holiday home on the park?

There is no length of tenure at the park. Once purchased you may keep your holiday home as long as you wish.

How much are the annual site fees?

The annual site fees differ according to the area of the park on which your holiday home is situated. These are detailed below as all inclusive prices for the 2018 season:

Are there any other running costs to consider?

Yes. There is gas usage from 19kg/47kg gas bottles which are delivered by us. Bottles currently cost £40.00 per 19kg, £65.00 per 47kg bottle. Electric is metered and recharged at the same cost at which we are billed.

What if I need maintenance work carried out on my home?

We have a team of experienced maintenance staff and access to qualified contractors who can carry out most tasks. You can contact the team through our reception on 01263 513290. You may also carry out general maintenance yourself. We do insist that all work is carried out by qualified contractors and that we gain sight of any registration documentation.

Are there any hidden costs after I have been quoted a price?

No. The price quoted includes delivery of your home, siting on the pitch of your choice, all connections, TV aerial and steps, thorough cleaning before you take the home over and the presentation of gas and electrical safety certification.

Do holiday homes depreciate in value?

Like any home, holiday homes do depreciate. And in a similar way to vehicles, the value will depreciate in the first year or so due to tax payable, but this can even out over a period of time and when considering used values for resale. The park on which the holiday home is situated, the choice of pitch, its environment and its ambiance all play an important part in dictating the resale value.

What if I decided to change my holiday home or move from Forest Park?

We very much hope you are happy with your home, and want to stay here for years to come.  However, if you decide to move on or change your home, there are a number of options open to you:

  • You may part exchange for a new holiday home in which case the park can give generous allowances against new models.
  • You may sell your holiday home to a third party on the pitch in accordance with the BH&HPA standard agreement. A commission of 15% plus vat is charged to the purchaser for this option.
  • You may sell the holiday home to a third party off the park in which case there will be a charge to disconnect the holiday home of £200 + vat.
  • Forest Park will buy back your holiday home from you.

Can my family use the facilities at Forest Park?

Both your immediate family and you as owners are entitled to use all the park’s facilities, including the clubhouse and play areas; however a small charge is made for the use of the swimming pool.

Can we let our holiday home out to a third party?

No. You may allow immediate family and friends to use your home, however we do not allow the commercial letting of holiday homes. This is to preserve the peaceful nature of the Park and our family-run feel.

Do I get a legal agreement here at Forest Park

Yes. We are members of the British Holiday & Home Parks Association and you will have the security of a legally binding agreement formulated between the Office of Fair Trading and BH&HPA.
