Forest Park has achieved Gold standard in the David Bellamy Conservation Awards scheme for the 14th year running.
We’re proud to receive the top accolade which recognises efforts to protect and improve the natural environment to thrive for generations to come.
In order to achieve this award, we compiled all our green attributes and had an independent inspection.
We hope you agree and are able to spot a number of environmentally friendly initiatives, including the bird and butterfly boxes, the management of dead trees and forest areas where we encourage natural habitats to thrive.
We also use low energy light bulbs, run electric buggies, monitor water usage closely and encourage recycling. We also support our community by buying from local suppliers and backing local events and sporting clubs.
Here’s what David Bellamy had to say about Forest Park:
“I was particularly pleased to see that you continue to forge great links with your local community by sponsoring the village fete and holding ecumenical services on your beautiful park several times a year. Well done. It is also great to hear that you still carefully consider energy conservation issues in everything that you do.”
By being recognised for this Green Tourism Award our visitors know that they have made a greener choice – and that they’ll have a holiday full of natural enjoyment.
