As we approach the 2014 season, we spotted a story in The Mirror that showed what we always knew – that the UK is a nation of happy campers!
The survey, run by the Liverpool John Moores University, found that 77 per cent of campers are satisfied with their quality of life, compared with 59 per cent of non-campers. And with four in 10 Britons taking a camping holiday in the past three years, it’s more popular than ever.
So, why is this? It could be a little something to do with:
Getting back to nature – just you and your loved ones under canvas makes you appreciate the simple things in life
Eating alfresco – What is it about a BBQ that makes food taste so much better?
Enjoying the great outdoors – Whether it’s playing bat and ball, visiting the coast or exploring the bugs in the woods, camping brings the whole family together again
Plenty of fresh air – we spend so much of our time indoors, it makes a lovely change to get outside
Slowing down – we’re all so busy, isn’t it nice to slow down and get back to basics?
Peace and quiet – Most campsites help you to escape your ordinary routine and enjoy some peace and quiet.
